Uses
Leflunomide is used to treat inflammation of joints, swelling, difficulty in moving and pain in joints in people with arthiritis (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthiritis).
How it works
Leflunomide belongs to group of medicines called anti-rheumatic drugs. It reduces inflammation by suppressing the activity of immune cells (lymphocytes) responsible for the inflammation.
Common side effects
inflammation of the mouth or mouth ulcers, dry skin, Abnormal blood cell counts, increased blood pressure, problems in the nerves of the arms or legs, mild allergic reactions, increased hair loss, raised, nausea, pain caused by inflammation in the membrane surrounding the tendons usually in the feet or hands, abnormal sensations like tingling, numbness, abdominal pain, vomiting, and burning of skin, increased liver enzymes, taste disturbances, itchy skin rash and tendon rupture., loss of appetite, pale red, diarrhea, dizziness, anxiety, pricking, anemia, weight loss, headache, itchy skin rash, weakness
