Biduret (Amiloride Hydrochloride/Hydrochlorothiazide) is primarily prescribed for people suffering from edema and/or hypertension. It is part of a class of drugs called potassium-sparing diuretics, also known as `water pills`. It effectively reduces the amount of fluid in the body without reducing the amount of potassium in the body.
Always take Biduret (Amiloride Hydrochloride/Hydrochlorothiazide) strictly as instructed by your physician. Never alter your dosage or self-medicate unless you have been advised to do so. Always finish the full course of medication which you have been prescribed even if your condition has improved to a normal level. Tablets should be taking alongside a full glass of water.
As it induces urination, it is generally recommended that patients take it early in the day and never in the evening or prior to sleeping. If you forget to dose, do so as soon as possible. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal with your schedule. Never double or increase any dose to compensate for a previous missed dose.
Biduret (Amiloride Hydrochloride/Hydrochlorothiazide)is usually well tolerated and any side effects only mild, safe, and short lasting. Despite this, all side effects should be reported to your physician, and any which are persistent or worrying should be reported as soon as possible.
Watch closely for any irregular heartbeat, fatigue, weakness, tingling, numbness, confusion, or decrease in urination, and report any of these to your physician promptly.
While taking Biduret (Amiloride Hydrochloride/Hydrochlorothiazide), avoid any salt substitutes or low-sodium milk products containing potassium. These products can lead to dangerous spikes in your blood potassium levels.
