Procarbazine is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat certain types of Hodgkin’s disease (types of cancer that begin in a type of white blood cells that normally fights infection).
How it works
Procarbazine belongs to a group of medicines called antineoplastic alkylating agents. It works by inhibiting protein, RNA, and DNA synthesis, which helps to stop the growth of cancer cells in the body.
Common side effects
drowsiness and a lack of enthusiasm, Skin rash or any unusual bleeding or bruising, fever and irritability, nausea, liver disorder, vomiting, lack of energy, lowering of white blood cell count, loss of appetite, headache, infertility.
